Organist Hansjorg Albrecht and his sound engineer Martin Fischer have collaborated again on a set of new Richard Wagner organ transcriptions. This time Albrecht plays the celebrated Woehl organ in the Herz-Jesu-Kirche in Munich. The transcriptions are by the young composer Axel Langmann, and by Edwin Henry Lemare. The Overtures to Die Feen and Das Liebesverbot are heard in world premiere recordings. Hansjorg Albrecht has released more than 20 albums on OehmsClassics, both as conductor and organist. They include the complete recording of Walter Braunfels' orchestral songs, which received many positive comments from the international media; and Richard Wagner's Ring ohne Worte in the orchestral version by Lorin Maazel, which was nominated for the German Record Critics' Prize. Hansjorg Albrecht was also nominated for a Grammy award in 2013 in the category Best Classical Instrumental Solo for his organ recording of Gustav Holst's The Planets.

Wolfgang Rihm's opera InchJakob LenzInch, world premiered on 8 March 1979 at the Hamburg State Opera's Opera stabile, can be understood as a palimpsest. Like a parchment on which writings of different ages overlap but always remain translucent, this opera is also the result of multiple layering we see the historical figure of the Sturm und Drang poet Jakob Michael Reinhold Lenz from the second half of the 18th century through the eyes of Georg Buchner, who wrote his InchLenzInch novella around 1835. The story is mirrored once again in Michael Frohling's libretto version, on which Rihm's opera is based. This is a live recording of the opening night at the Nationaltheater Mannheim in 2021 under the direction of Franck Ollu.

The 6th symphony of Gustav Mahler was written between 1903 and 1904, mostly in Vienna, in a period of professional success and private happiness. But musically, the InchTragicInch, as the symphony is sometimes called seems like a bizarre reversal of Mahler's life reality. Or as an anticipation of future tragedies the death of the daughter, the diagnosis of Mahler's heart disease and the profound occupational crisis at the Vienna Court Opera. They should soon end Mahler's short luck abruptly. In retrospect these three strokes of fate were identified with the famous hammer blows of the final movement. Alma Mahler wrote in her memoirs to the symphony InchNo work has flowed from his heart so directly. The Sixth is his most personal work and a prophetic one on top of that.Inch In mid-May 2019, Essen's General Music Director Tomáš Netopil conducted the Essen Philharmonic Orchestra on two acclaimed performances of the Sixth Symphony. The work was performed almost exactly 113 years earlier, on May 27, 1906, by the same orchestra under the composer's direction.

Far away from the metropolis of Munich, music culture also blossomed at the court of the prince bishop of Freising in his role as episcopal Kapellmeister, Placidus von Camerloher shaped the city's musical life for almost forty years. To mark the 300th birthday of the composer, lutenist Christoph Eglhuber has compiled and recorded his Compositions for Solo Lute. Most of them are world premiere recordings. Eglhuber is joined here by Hans Bruderl, Theona Gubba-Chkeidze, Angelika Fichter and Sabina Lehrmann. Christoph Eglhuber attended the artistic Camerloher Grammar School in Freising. There followed studies at Munich Music Academy and at the Ludwig Maximilian University in Munich. During this time, he also specialized in performing on period plucked instruments, in particular on basso continuo and ensemble performance with different types of lute and theorbos, up to and including early guitars. He has been an associate professor at the Department of Musicology and Music Education of Regensburg University since 2001.

Schubert's early death left us with an enormous amount of unfinished and fragmentary pieces, many of which are masterpieces. His piano sonatas are an unusual case -comprising eleven completed sonatas, ten fragmentary ones and four other fragmentary movements. Two of these fragmentary sonatas are juxtaposed in this program the mysterious early fragment in F sharp minor D 571 and the epic Sonata in C major D 840 Reliquie, followed by Michael Finnissy's new Vervollständigung von Schuberts D 840, commissioned and premiered by Yehuda Inbar in May 2017, and receiving it's premiere recording on this . With this recording, produced on a single day, Christian von Blohn would like to demonstrate above all the versatility of the instrument in Bouxwiller. He quite deliberately selects music from completely different periods, also performing his own works. The famous organ was built by Johann Andreas Silbermann in 1778 and, following several renovations, is under monumental protection today. Christian von Blohn, born in 1963, graduated from the State University of Music Saarbrucken with a degree in church music and music education. He continued his artistic education in Switzerland at the Conservatoire de Lausanne in the master class of Andre Luy, where he was honored in 1991 with the Premier Prix de Virtuosite. This was followed by further studies with Daniel Chorzempa at the Music Academy in Basel and the Mozarteum Salzburg, as well as with Peter Hurford and Julian Smith at the InchRoyal School of Church MusicInch in Great Britain.

After his move to Moscow in 1943, Weinberg had to face widespread anti-Semitism, both among the population and on the part of politicians. Perhaps for this very reason, he composed the opera Congratulations! Especially for the discerning entertainment and edification of the Jewish community in Moscow in the mid-1970s. It is a work full of Jewish topoi that at the same time disguises itself as being Socialist (here, the 'rich people' are clearly identified as the enemies and suppressors, and they must be disempowered) - probably because there would otherwise not have been any chance of performing it in Russia. The original text for the opera, to which Weinberg himself made only few amendments, derives from the 'Jewish Mark Twain', from Sholem Aleichem (1859-1916). Today, we are familiar with Aleichem mainly from his short story Tevye the Dairyman, which later provided the material for the musical Fiddler on the Roof. The Kammerakademie Potsdam under Vlademir Stoupel performed the Version for Chamber ensemble by Henry Koch live from the Konzerthaus Berlin.

The Overtures to Die Feen and Das Liebesverbot are heard in world premiere recordings. Hansjorg Albrecht has released more than 20 albums on OehmsClassics, both as conductor and organist. Wolfgang Rihm's opera InchJakob LenzInch, world premiered on 8 March 1979 at the Hamburg State Opera's Opera stabile, can be understood as a palimpsest. Like a parchment on which writings of different ages overlap but always remain translucent, this opera is also the result of multiple layering we see the historical figure of the Sturm und Drang poet Jakob Michael Reinhold Lenz from the second half of the 18th century through the eyes of Georg Buchner, who wrote his InchLenzInch novella around 1835. The story is mirrored once again in Michael Frohling's libretto version, on which Rihm's opera is based. This is a live recording of the opening night at the Nationaltheater Mannheim in 2021 under the direction of Franck Ollu.

The 6th symphony of Gustav Mahler was written between 1903 and 1904, mostly in Vienna, in a period of professional success and private happiness. But musically, the InchTragicInch, as the symphony is sometimes called seems like a bizarre reversal of Mahler's life reality. Or as an anticipation of future tragedies the death of the daughter, the diagnosis of Mahler's heart disease and the profound occupational crisis at the Vienna Court Opera. They should soon end Mahler's short luck abruptly. In retrospect these three strokes of fate were identified with the famous hammer blows of the final movement. Alma Mahler wrote in her memoirs to the symphony InchNo work has flowed from his heart so directly. The Sixth is his most personal work and a prophetic one on top of that.Inch In mid-May 2019, Essen's General Music Director Tomáš Netopil conducted the Essen Philharmonic Orchestra on two acclaimed performances of the Sixth Symphony. The work was performed almost exactly 113 years earlier, on May 27, 1906, by the same orchestra under the composer's direction.

Far away from the metropolis of Munich, music culture also blossomed at the court of the prince bishop of Freising in his role as episcopal Kapellmeister, Placidus von Camerloher shaped the city's musical life for almost forty years. To mark the 300th birthday of the composer, lutenist Christoph Eglhuber has compiled and recorded his Compositions for Solo Lute. Most of them are world premiere recordings. Eglhuber is joined here by Hans Bruderl, Theona Gubba-Chkeidze, Angelika Fichter and Sabina Lehrmann. Christoph Eglhuber attended the artistic Camerloher Grammar School in Freising. There followed studies at Munich Music Academy and at the Ludwig Maximilian University in Munich. During this time, he also specialized in performing on period plucked instruments, in particular on basso continuo and ensemble performance with different types of lute and theorbos, up to and including early guitars. He has been an associate professor at the Department of Musicology and Music Education of Regensburg University since 2001.

With this recording, produced on a single day, Christian von Blohn would like to demonstrate above all the versatility of the instrument in Bouxwiller. He quite deliberately selects music from completely different periods, also performing his own works. The famous organ was built by Johann Andreas Silbermann in 1778 and, following several renovations, is under monumental protection today. Christian von Blohn, born in 1963, graduated from the State University of Music Saarbrucken with a degree in church music and music education. He continued his artistic education in Switzerland at the Conservatoire de Lausanne in the master class of Andre Luy, where he was honored in 1991 with the Premier Prix de Virtuosite. This was followed by further studies with Daniel Chorzempa at the Music Academy in Basel and the Mozarteum Salzburg, as well as with Peter Hurford and Julian Smith at the InchRoyal School of Church MusicInch in Great Britain.

Like Richard Strauss, besides the dominating stage works Richard Wagner's oeuvre catalogue shows several works for other genres, including compositions for choir, piano and chamber music as well as songs. Amongst them, the Wesendonck-Lieder, composed after texts by his occasional muse, Mathilde von Wesendonck, the wife of a Swiss industrialist, have attained special popularity. Very special is the version which can be heard on this recording for deep voice played by the violoncello. Additionally, the 'Album Page' and prelude to 'Tristan und Isolde' in the cello/piano version by Richard Wagner can be found on this . These pieces are beautifully performed on this by cellist Norbert Anger and pianist Michael Schoch.

After his move to Moscow in 1943, Weinberg had to face widespread anti-Semitism, both among the population and on the part of politicians. Perhaps for this very reason, he composed the opera Congratulations! Especially for the discerning entertainment and edification of the Jewish community in Moscow in the mid-1970s. It is a work full of Jewish topoi that at the same time disguises itself as being Socialist (here, the 'rich people' are clearly identified as the enemies and suppressors, and they must be disempowered) - probably because there would otherwise not have been any chance of performing it in Russia. The original text for the opera, to which Weinberg himself made only few amendments, derives from the 'Jewish Mark Twain', from Sholem Aleichem (1859-1916). Today, we are familiar with Aleichem mainly from his short story Tevye the Dairyman, which later provided the material for the musical Fiddler on the Roof. The Kammerakademie Potsdam under Vlademir Stoupel performed the Version for Chamber ensemble by Henry Koch live from the Konzerthaus Berlin.
